Tui Na, Not Your Typical Massage

Person receiving professional back massage in spa setting.

Stripping down to your birthday suit for a modern spa massage can be an uncomfortable experience for many. And the results are often only temporary.

If you’re looking for a massage that provides longer-lasting results AND allows you to keep your clothes on, look no further than Tui Na.

It’s a therapeutic form of massage that’s been used in China for millennia and is thought to be the first system of physiotherapy. Tui Na has gained international attention in recent years as a safe and effective treatment for a variety of conditions including fatigue, pain and other musculoskeletal conditions.

At AcuMedGroup, Dr. Rusnak combines this ancient form of massage with acupuncture and cupping therapy most often to alleviate pain and balance the body’s Qi, the circulating system of lifeforce energy that is the basis of Traditional Chinese Medicine

Translated as “pinch and pull” in Chinese, there are many types of Tui Na techniques. The general method entails a specially trained therapist using their arms and hands to massage muscles and tendons and manipulate the body to improve blood flow and realigns the musculoskeletal system.

Our Tui Na therapist Melissa has 23 years of experience in therapeutic massage and the strongest hands in Central Florida. You might experience slight discomfort during and shortly after the massage. But the result is a deeply healing effect on the body, which also eliminates the mental discomfort associated with pain.

AcuMedGroup Wellness Center is not a spa, but it is a relaxing and serene place where you can connect with yourself and heal from the inside out.
