Chronic pain is the most common reason patients come to AcuMedGroup. Back and neck pain, sciatica that shoots from the lower back down the leg, migraines, arthritic knees and hips, shoulders that never quite recovered from an injury. By the time most people arrive they have tried rest, over‑the‑counter medication and often physical therapy, and the pain has become part of the day.
Acupuncture works on pain from two directions: locally, by releasing the muscle and fascia around the painful structure, and centrally, by stimulating the nervous system to release endorphins and turn down its pain signalling. That is why it can help where a purely mechanical approach has stalled.
How we approach it
- Orthopedic acupuncture and dry needling for the muscles and trigger points involved
- Electroacupuncture where pain is stubborn or muscle spasm is part of the picture
- Cupping to flush the region with blood flow and loosen fascia
- Medical massage for the structural work between acupuncture sessions
- Traumeel injections for inflamed joints, and perineural B‑12 for nerve pain, when Dr. Rusnak judges they will speed relief
What to expect
Most patients begin with weekly sessions. Acute flare‑ups often shift within a few visits; long‑standing pain usually takes a month or more of regular treatment before the improvement holds between sessions. You leave each visit with simple exercises or changes to keep the gain, and the plan is adjusted as you respond.
Start with a screening call
