Homeopathic pain injections have a long history of clinical use for musculoskeletal pain, neuropathic pain and joint pain. They are an option for patients who want to avoid, reduce or delay corticosteroid injections and long‑term anti‑inflammatory medication.
Traumeel injections
Traumeel is a homeopathic preparation of botanical and mineral extracts used to reduce inflammation in painful joints and soft tissue. It is a non‑cortisone alternative to corticosteroid injections and NSAIDs.
- Typically a course of two or three injections, one to two weeks apart
- Many patients notice a change within a day or two of the first injection
- Suitable for knees, shoulders, elbows, hips and spinal soft tissue
Perineural B‑12 injections
A concentrated dose of vitamin B‑12 (cyanocobalamin) delivered around an affected nerve. B‑12 is essential to nerve function, and this approach is used for neuropathic pain, the burning, tingling or shooting pain that comes from an irritated or damaged nerve.
Who these injections are for
- Joint pain that flares with activity and has not settled with rest and physical therapy
- Nerve pain in the arms, legs, hands or feet
- Patients who have been offered cortisone and want another option first
- Chronic pain patients who also receive acupuncture and want faster local relief
Is this right for me?
Injections are only offered after a consultation. On the screening call we ask what you are dealing with and what you have already tried; at the first visit Dr. Rusnak examines the area and decides whether an injection, acupuncture, or both is the better route.
